There are two ways to enter Fisher Island, by Ferry or the beach. Today a 7 foot, 300 pound alligator stormed the shores of Fisher Island. In the early afternoon, the Fisher Island Community Association (FICA) sent out a warning. Residents were urged to stay off the beach and to keep pets on a leash.

FICA contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. They arrived on the Island at 2:30PM and quickly captured the alligator. The plan was to capture and release the alligator back into the Everglades.
